Aimersoft Video Studio Express Getting Started

Aimersoft Video Studio Express is a powerful video editing software for you to compile any movie or video projects regardless the size and format in a few simple steps. You can add background music, scene transitions, and stylish movie effects to your video, editing the video and audio track easily. What are the limitations of the trial version?

Follow these steps to start editing and creating your own video clips.

Load Media Files

Click Add File to load all supported files including video and audio files. Or you can drag the media files directly to the program.

Media Files Properties: Right-click the file and select Properties to check the information about the file.
Rename the files: You can double click the name of the media file to rename it, which won’t change the file’s name in your local file folder.
Preview: Double-click the file to preview the file on the Preview pane. Or you can select the file and click Play Button to preview.

Note:
• If the file in the Media Collections is deleted or moved from the original directory, it will be an unknown file which can't be loaded to timeline.
• When loading the file with same name, the file will replace the existed file in the Media collections.

Follow these steps to start editing and creating your own video clips.

Timeline Editing

Import
Drag the files to the timeline or right-click the files and select Add to Timeline to load the files to timeline for editing.
• Link and unlink the files: Right-click the file and choose Unlink to unlink the Video and Audio Track, then them can be edited separately.
• If the files are linked, they can be edited together.

Split
Move the Timeline Indicator to the place for splitting, select the video or audio clip and click the Split button to split the clip from the Timeline Indicator.
After splitting, you can drag the clip from the cut edge to restore the original video or audio.

• If you drag a clip over another clip, the existing file will not be covered. Still you can drag the cut edge of clip on the left to restore the clip.
• If the files are linked, they will all be split.

Trim

Drag the video or audio clip from the edge to trim the clip. If the clip is trimmed, you can drag it back to restore.

Copy
Right-click a clip and select Copy or press CTRL+C to copy the clip. Right-click a clip and select Paste or press CTRL+V to paste the clip. The edge of the copied clip will be pasted according to the Timeline indicator.

Edit Video, Audio and Transition
Select a video, audio or transition and click the Edit button or double-click to open the Video, Audio Edit or Transition window.
The icon for the track becomes bright when the track is selected.

Edit Video
Double-click the video file to open the Video Edit window. You can crop the video, add effects and rotate the video.
In the Video Edit Window, click effects to add special effects to the videos.

Edit Audio
Double-click the audio file to open the Audio Edit window. You can set the time of the audio fade in and fade out.

Add Background Music: Add local music file to the Media Collection and drag the music file to the Background music track. Choose whether or not the background music will overlap the one in the Audio Track.

Transition

Click Transition and drag the transition effects to the timeline from the collections.

Tip: The transition is always short corresponding to the video file, you can zoom in the time line before editing the transition.

Export
After editing the file, you can export it on device like iPhone or iPad, or convert it to other formats and you can also export your file to YouTube.
Click Export to choose exporting the file to device formats, other formats or upload directly to YouTube.You can name the output file and choose the profile for the device.

Tips:
• Click Advanced Settings to adjust the advanced settings of the profile.
• Click the Browse button to change the output folder for saving the converted file.
• Click Export to open the Convert window for choosing an output profile.
